Is Your News Truly Free?

Think Twice About Media Censorship in Canada

Are You Getting the Whole Story?

Every Canadian deserves access to transparent, uncensored news. Yet many are concerned that government policies and regulations may influence mainstream media coverage. It's important to be informed and vigilant about how information is shared, and what voices might be missing from our national conversations.

Why Does It Matter?

·       Open, diverse media protects democracy and encourages informed debate.

·       Censorship can restrict the stories we hear and the perspectives available to us.

·       Vibrant, independent journalism is essential for holding power accountable.

Stay Informed

·       Ask questions about your news sources.

·       Seek out multiple perspectives and independent outlets.

·       Support transparency in media and government.

Your right to uncensored information is fundamental. Let’s keep our media free and our democracy strong.

Follow the Money

Every employee of our collection of Canadian broadcasters knows that their paycheck depends on the financial success of the company they work for. They know better than to “bite the hand that feeds them”. They work to feed their families, so making waves with a divergent narrative is not an option?

Using AI to see past the curtain

To create the following table GROK AI was used with the following Prompt – “ How much money has been contributed to Canadian broadcasters by the Canadian Media Fund? Sort by Broadcaster. Sort the table by Allocation Amount to each broadcaster.”

GROK AI searched through 59 Web-Pages and produced this response.

The Canadian Media Fund (CMF) contributes funding to Canadian broadcasters primarily through its Broadcaster Envelope Program, which allocates envelopes based on broadcasters' past performance in supporting Canadian content. These allocations represent the money made available to each broadcaster for the fiscal year to support development and production of eligible projects. For the 2025-2026 fiscal year (relevant as of August 2025), the CMF has allocated a total of $201,277,376 across English, French, and Diverse Languages envelopes. You Do Have Choices

Below are a few examples of Canadian Independent news content creators who do not get any funding from the Canadian Government. They do their own research and draw their own conclusions. They are not supported by the Conservative Party of Canada although these examples all share a conservative perspective. This list is not all inclusive of the many fine examples of content creators in Canada. You may agree, or not agree with everything they present, but they show their homework. You decide! If you get value from independent content creators you can directly support them through subscriptions, Patreon, merchandise and donations.
